You know the dance. You know you've done it. The one every researcher does after finding something new. The one where you want to jump up and down and shout to everyone around that you found the document, contacted a cousin who has the family Bible, made a DNA connection or found a whole new branch to your tree. The one that is met with glazed stares and eye rolls.
Celebration Sunday is a place to share your discoveries.
This is a weekly series to enable everyone to tell about their Genealogy Happy Dance moment.
Share by scrolling down and adding your story to the comments section or you may also put a link to a blog post telling about what had you dancing this week.
My Happy Dance Moment for this week:
It's been a rough week. A week of worry and fear of the unknown.
Stockpiling of food and other necessities causing store shelves to empty.
A new phrase "Social Distancing" has been added to our vocabulary.
The spreading of COVID-19 brought closures and cancelations disrupting lives.
Speaking engagements and conferences are canceled or postponed.
Research facilities are shutting down.
And? As usual, the genealogy community is coming to each other's aid.
Some are offering help with understanding and using platforms to live stream or record presentations others are supplying support via social media as we all adjust to a new normal. Instead of getting angry about decisions to push plans for future conferences back, messages of understanding are being sent.
My Happy Dance Moment during this difficult week?
Knowing that I am part of a community who cares, and will continue to help one another no matter what the future holds.
A very happy dance indeed!
