  Arthur Wellington Baker (1857-1940), my paternal great great grandfather, was born on this day 165 years ago. He was born in Sumter County, South Carolina, and was the son of Alpheus J. Baker (1824-1917) and Mary Ellen (Jones) Baker (1826-1865).

My maternal great-grandmother, Beulah Mae (Price) Roberts (1897-1980) would have been celebrating her 125th birthday on this day. Beulah was born in Bath, Aiken, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Bertrand Campbell Price (1876-after 1922) and Bessie Mae (Eargle) Price (1878-1943).

 Gilbert Ernest Roberts, Jr. (1944-1999), my maternal uncle died 23 years ago on this day. He is buried in Quaker Cemetery in Camden, Kershaw, South Carolina.

Interesting how events coincide with one another. Not only did these three happen on one day, but Gil Roberts died on his grandmother Beulah Mae (Price) Robert's birthday.

  This day would have been my 5th great grandfather, John Dargan's (1749-1817) 268th birthday. He was the son of Capt. John Dargan (1726-1766) and Mary (Strother)  (1729-abt. 1808) and may have been born in the Prince Frederick Parish area of South Carolina. 

May 3~
 The 103rd anniversary of the marriage of my paternal great grandparents, John McSwain Hudson (1880-1961) and Louvinia Blanche (Thames) Hudson (1886-1918). John was 34 and Blanche was 28 when they married in Manning, Clarendon, South Carolina.

   My paternal 6th Great Grandparents, Samuel Cook and Alice (Cook) Dargan (1753-?) were married on this day in 1771. They would be celebrating their 245th wedding anniversary. They were most likely married in the Sumter District area of South Carolina.

Nov. 30-
 Louvinia Blanche (Thames) Hudson (1886-1918), my paternal Great Grandmother, died 98 years ago. Blanche was 32 years old when she died a week after having her first child.  Her cause of death was due to "complications of childbirth". Blanche died at home in Clarendon County, South Carolina and was buried in Home Branch Cemetery.

 The death of my Paternal 5th Great Grandfather happened on Christmas Day,196 years ago.  John Dargan (1748-1817) was 68 years old when he died in Sumter County, SC. Burial took place in the Dargan Cemetery.
