You know the dance. You know you've done it. The one every researcher does after finding something new. The one where you want to jump up and down and shout to everyone around that you found the document, contacted a cousin who has the family Bible, made a DNA connection or found a whole new branch to your tree. The one that is met with glazed stares and eye rolls.
Celebration Sunday is a place to share your discoveries.
This is a weekly series to enable everyone to tell about their Genealogy Happy Dance moment. This can be done by scrolling down and adding your story to the comments section. You may also put a link to a blog post.
Let's celebrate and dance together.
A No Eye Rolling Zone!
My Happy Dance This Week:
Season 3 of Genealogy Road Show began on Tuesday. I love this show and seeing the joy in people's faces as they learn about their ancestors. Celebrating the return of one of my favorite shows had me doing that Happy Dance! What got you dancing this week?
Take a minute and share so we can all dance with you!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
While finishing up my post on my immigrant ancestor's parents and siblings in Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France, I discovered the Bas-Rhin Archives have re-done their site and now allow their documents to be embedded (using their code) into blogs and websites. I immediately wrote a short post about the NEWS! https://openingdoorsinbrickwalls.wordpress.com/2016/05/17/extra-extra-news-from-the-archives-departementales-du-bas-rhin/
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately the music stopped while I was dancing. Wordpress does not have the archives on their whitelist to allow embedding. I can however use their permalink to direct my readers to the documents and that's what I did in my post https://openingdoorsinbrickwalls.wordpress.com/2016/05/21/the-rupp-fetzer-family-of-oberhoffen-les-wissembourg/ ~ Cathy
Cathy, that is great news! Sorry it didn't work as you'd hoped but glad you found a work around! Thanks for sharing! Dancing with you!
DeleteI was able to talk on the phone to a descendant of one of my Great Great Grandfather's brothers. She was so comfortable to talk to and she was able to help clear up something I couldn't figure out from the records. It's so wonderful when you can find new family members and help each other out.
ReplyDeleteFinding cousins to talk to is so much fun! I'm so glad you found someone to answer a question for you and share information on your Great Great Grandfather. Thanks for sharing your Happy Dance! Got my dancing shoes on!
DeleteI was able to fulfill 3 volunteer photo Findagrave requests for people yesterday. The snow has finally melted to see markers.
ReplyDeleteFour Happy Dances! Yours and the three people who got the photo they were waiting for! It's a party! Thanks for sharing, Jen!
