Celebration Sunday-Genealogy Happy Dance!

You know the dance. You know you've done it. The one every researcher does after finding something new. The one where you want to jump up and down and shout to everyone around that you found the document, contacted a cousin who has the family Bible, made a DNA connection, or found a whole new branch to your tree. The one that is met with glazed stares and eye rolls.

Celebration Sunday is a place to share your discoveries.
This is a weekly series to enable everyone to tell about their Genealogy Happy Dance moment.

My Happy Dance Moment for this week:
Most of my readers know my love for the BUYtv show Relative Race.
Over the years the GenFriends panel and I have interviewed many of the team members. This week, I was able to meet with Monika Bergman in person!
On a trip to Hilton Head, we met up in Harbortown where Monika runs the Pirates of Hilton Head, an hour and a half sea voyage where children and their parents learn how to be pirates, search for buried treasure, and fight off "Stinky Pete" who tries to steal the pirate's bounty!
Monica brought many of her photos and memorabilia for me to see. We talked about her time on the show and even face-timed with her teammate Magen and with her parents. A big surprise was the gift Monika gave me of one of the envelopes received on the race that contained the information to find the next relative and the card with the coordinates to get there! The pirates may have found their treasure, but I received something even better!
A happy dance moment that will stay with me for a long long time!

Are you a Relative Race fan? Season 8 starts on September 19, 2021!
