Celebration Sunday-Genealogy Happy Dance! A Humbling Recognition

 

 You know the dance. You know you've done it. The one every researcher does after finding something new. The one where you want to jump up and down and shout to everyone that you found the document, contacted a cousin with the family Bible, made a DNA connection, or found a new branch to your tree. The one that is met with glazed stares and eye rolls.

My Happy Dance this week?

I am honored to receive the Lou D. Szucs Distinguished Service Award, announced at the NGS Conference yesterday.  Working with the board as Vice President of Society and Management has been a pleasure. We began a new course after the merger with FGS to honor our commitment to Societies, Libraries, Museums, and other Organizations. And congratulations to all the other award winners this weekend. I feel humbled to be in your company.
