The panel—Melissa Barker, Jenny Hawran, Laura Hedgecock, Mary Kircher Roddy, and I—share our varying experiences of being #RootsTech or #NotAtRootsTech!
Watch as we talk about the success of RootsTech 2024 and its offerings for all.

Did you participate in RootsTech 2024 either in person or virtually?
You know the dance. You know you've done it. The one every researcher does after finding something new. The one where you want to jump up and down and shout to everyone that you found the document, contacted a cousin with the family Bible, made a DNA connection, or found a new branch to your tree. The one that is met with glazed stares and eye rolls.
Celebration Sunday is a place to share your discoveries.
This weekly series enables everyone to tell about their Genealogy Happy Dance moment.

My Happy Dance this week?
RootsTech 2024 is over, and I am still doing the happy dance as I reflect on my experiences while attending. It was a week to celebrate, from the keynote speakers to my duties in the Media Hub, teaching classes, and meeting up with friends!
And, of course, there was the opportunity to research in the FamilySearch Library.
There's no way to choose a favorite part.
Check out the video of some of the highlights.
Did you attend RootsTech 2024?
What will you always remember?
Want to watch or rewatch the Keynotes or recorded classes?
Melissa Barker, Jenny Hawran, Laura Hedgecock, Shelley Murphy, Mary Kircher Roddy, and I welcome GenFriends at the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City.
Jenny, Laura, and I are attending in person, and Melissa, Shelley, and Mary joined us via Zoom.
I want to give Jenny a special shout-out for getting the tech together for me!
Watch as we hear from several guests who share what they will be up to during the week!
Are you planning on attending RootsTech either virtually or in person?
The schedule for RootsTech 2024 is out, and it's super easy to create your schedule to stay organized and not miss a thing!
Begin by heading over to RootsTech.org and signing in.
Then click on the dropdown menu on the top right to go to My Schedule.
From here, you will begin planning.
Remember, you can attend virtually or in person. Or both! Many of the sessions are being recorded, so you will have the opportunity to attend some in person and then watch the videos of others later.
Choose the day you want to see what is available, then click on Full Schedule.
You will get a list of everything happening that day. Interested in a class and want to add it to your schedule? Just click on the +Schedule Button, and then voila! It's added for you and will appear under "My Schedule."
With so many choices, you can filter to skill level or look for a specific speaker in order to narrow down the choices.
I added the classes I will be teaching each day to remember where I am supposed to be and when! I would love to see you at any of my presentations! Note: All times listed here are Eastern.
Times will be two hours earlier in Mountain Time if you are in Salt Lake City in person!
Here's where I will be on Thursday, February 29th:
There are several opportunities for us to connect on Friday, March 1:
(Notice that the second session I will be teaching for the day will be live streamed)
And my Saturday session:
Take some time to look through the many classes offered each day of Rootstech 2024 and plan your schedule. It will make your experience better to know where you need to be and when!
Whether in one of my sessions, hanging around the Expo Hall, during the opening sessions, or in the hallway, I hope to see you and catch up!
I hope you have an amazing experience at RootsTech 2024!
The panel, Melissa Barker, Dan Earl, Laura Hedgecock, Mary Kircher Roddy, and I share stories about their favorite holiday recipes.
Watch as we discuss how different food traditions bring back memories and can cause contention about the "right" way to make certain traditional dishes! LOL!
We also got a few to share from those who couldn't be with us when we recorded.
Do you have a special recipe that reminds you of a family or a special event?
We'd love for you to share the story and recipe with us!
