July 22~
 Margaret Ann (Thames) Hudson (1875-1960), my paternal great-aunt and step-great-grandmother, died 65 years ago on her 150th birthday. Annie died in Manning, Clarendon, South Carolina, and was buried in the Home Branch Cemetery in Paxville.  Annie was born in Clarendon County, South Carolina, and was the daughter of Benjamin Thomas Thames (1854-1931) and Margaret Frances "Fannie" (Gibson) Thames (1854-1929).

   My maternal 3rd Great Grandfather, Thomas Phillip Roberts (1830-1893),  would have been 194 years old on this day.  He was born in Richland County, SC, to Phillip Roberts (1798-1852) and Mary Ann Evans (1800-).

 Margaret Frances "Fanny" (Gibson) Thames (1854-1929), my paternal great-great-grandmother, died 93 years ago in Clarendon County, South Carolina. Fannie died from stomach cancer and was buried in Home Branch Cemetery in Paxville.

 Bertrand Campbell Price (1876-after 1922), my maternal Great Great Grandfather, would be 145 years old on this day. Cam was born in Aiken County, South Carolina.


July 29~
 My maternal 3rd great-grandfather, Thomas J. McRady (1821-1896) died 125 years ago. Thomas died in Sumter County, South Carolina, and is buried in Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Pisgah Crossroads, Sumter, South Carolina.

Nov. 24~
  Frances Virginia (McRady) McManus (1836-1903), my maternal Great Great Grandmother, died 116 years ago in Sumter County, South Carolina at the age of 47. Fannie is buried in the Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Pisgah Crossroads, Sumter, South Carolina.

 My paternal 5th Great Grandfather, Philip Roberts (1763-1854) died 165 years ago in Harrison County, Kentucky.

This date also marks the 131st anniversary of the death of my paternal Great Great Grandfather, Ransom Taylor Early (1829-1888).  Ransom was 76 years old when he died in Statesville, Iredell County, North Carolina. He is buried in the Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Statesville.

   My paternal 6th Great Grandparents, Samuel Cook and Alice (Cook) Dargan (1753-?) were married on this day in 1771. They would be celebrating their 245th wedding anniversary. They were most likely married in the Sumter District area of South Carolina.

 Louvinia Blanche (Thames) Hudson (1886-1918), my paternal Great Grandmother, died 98 years ago. Blanche was 32 years old when she died a week after having her first child.  Her cause of death was due to "complications of childbirth". Blanche died at home in Clarendon County, South Carolina and was buried in Home Branch Cemetery.

    Beulah Mae (Price) Roberts (1897-1980), my maternal Great Grandmother, died 35 years ago in Camden, Kershaw, South Carolina at the age of 83. She is buried in Quaker Cemetery, Kershaw, South Carolina.

December 2~
    This day marks the 216 anniversary of the birth of my paternal 4th Great Grandfather. John Milton Dargan (1799-1847). He was born in Sumter District, South Carolina and was the son of John Dargan (1749-1817) and Mary (Strother) Dargan (1772-1822).
  
December 5~
  My maternal Step Great Grandmother, Mary Christine (Williams) Sullivan (1896-1930) was born in Kershaw County, South Carolina 119 years ago. Christine was the daughter of  James Lewis Williams (1873-1937) and Lizzie (Pettigrew) Williams (?-before 1900)

 My paternal Step-Great Grandmother, Margaret Annie (Thames) Hudson (1875-July 22, 1960) died 55 years ago in Manning, Clarendon, South Carolina. She was 84 years old and according to her obituary, died in the hospital "after a long period of failing health".  Annie was buried in the Home Branch Church Cemetery, Paxville, Clarendon, South Carolina.

July 23~
  Thomas Philip Roberts (1830-1893), my maternal 3rd great grandfather was born 185 years ago on this day. Thomas was born in Richland County, South Carolina to Philip Roberts, III(1798-1852) and Mary Ann (Evans) Roberts (1800-after 1870).

July 25~
  The 241st birthday of my 5th paternal Great Grandmother, Alice (Cook) Vaughn (1774-1859). Her parents were Samuel Cook and Alice (Dargan) Cook. She lived most of her life in the Sumter County, South Carolina area and may have been born there.

Nov. 24-

  •   In 1854 my Maternal 5th Great Grandfather, Philip Roberts , II (1783-1854) died at the age of 91 in Harrison County, Ky. His death was 159 years ago.
  •    Ransom Taylor Early (1829-1888), my Paternal Great Great Grandfather died and was buried in Statesville, Iredell, NC. He was 59 years old when he died 125 years ago. The burial took place in the Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery. 

Nov. 29-
  The 242nd anniversary of the marriage of Samuel Cook and Alice Dargan (b.1753).  Samuel and Alice were my Paternal 6th Great Grandparents and may have been married in Sumter County, SC. 

Nov. 30-
 Louvinia Blanche Thames Hudson (1886-1918) , my paternal Great Grandmother died 95 years ago in 1918. Blanche was 32 years old when she died just a week after giving birth to her first child. Her death certificate list complications of child birth as her cause of death. She died in Clarendon County, SC and is buried there in Home Branch Cemetery.
