Celebration Sunday~Genealogy Happy Dance!

You know the dance. You know you've done it. The one every researcher does after finding something new. The one where you want to jump up and down and shout to everyone around that you found the document, contacted a cousin who has the family Bible, made a DNA connection or found a whole new branch to your tree. The one that is met with glazed stares and eye rolls.

Celebration Sunday is a place to share your discoveries.
This is a weekly series to enable everyone to tell about their Genealogy Happy Dance moment.

Share by scrolling down and adding your story to the comments section or you may also put a link to a blog post telling about what had you dancing this week.

My Happy Dance Moment for this week:

It had been a hard case. It seemed it would be my first one without being able to locate any type of DNA donor to help I.D. my Soldier. Then, just hour before I began writing the report to send in detailing the hours of research with no results, a breakthrough!  His daughter was indeed still alive and was found! She had done a great job of going off the grid but miracles happen and contact was made. Still amazed at the timing.
Happy Dance and Happy Tears!!

What had you doing the Happy Dance this week?

  1. This year I decided to open the wallet wider since I am unable to travel around the country searching local records.
Today I found the obituary of my 2nd great grandfather Flavious. I knew most of what I read but I learned that there was a child that died in infancy, that he had a stroke four days before death and that he had been blind for several years before death.

  3. I was able to acquire a school record book from 1905 - 1907 that includes my grandmother and her siblings as students. https://martinmcghee.wordpress.com/2020/02/11/discovering-a-school-record-book/
