Celebration Sunday~Genealogy Happy Dance!

You know the dance. You know you've done it. The one every researcher does after finding something new. The one where you want to jump up and down and shout to everyone around that you found the document, contacted a cousin who has the family Bible, made a DNA connection or found a whole new branch to your tree. The one that is met with glazed stares and eye rolls.

Celebration Sunday is a place to share your discoveries.
This is a weekly series to enable everyone to tell about their Genealogy Happy Dance moment.

Share by scrolling down and adding your story to the comments section or you may also put a link to a blog post telling about what had you dancing this week.

My Happy Dance Moment for this week:

Creating trees to help with DNA matches took up most of my time this week. Luckily, there seems to be a common surname jumping out at me. After all that work, it has paid off and I am beginning to formulate a theory of who's the daddy.
A happy dance for sure!

What is your happy dance moment for this week?

  1. After a 3rd-cousin level Ancestry DNA match posted a public tree this week, I was able to connect that DNA match as a half 2nd cousin, and then use that same information to connect two other DNA matches in the same line on 23 and Me (1st cousin and 1st cousin once removed of the Ancestry match). And that branch was one that we were not certain even connected, since it necessitated that my great grandfather had a wife and child prior to marrying my great grandmother, and none of the later records indicated such a thing. But the DNA clearly matches!

  4. Hi there would you mind sharing which blog platform you're using?
I'm going to start my own blog in the near future but I'm
having a hard time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something unique.
P.S Apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
