My maternal Grandmother Azile Juanita Daughrity Roberts Sullivan (1921-2009) owned a beautiful heart shaped locket.
On the back are her initials, AD.

Grandmom is wearing the locket in her 1939 Graduation photo from Sumter High School, in Sumter, South Carolina. There is nothing in it now, but I wonder, did it ever hold a picture of someone she loved? Who would it have been?
Was it a graduation gift? Possibly.

  2. WoW Cheryl I want to know! I have a few pieces. You all are making me realize all the little treasures I'm so glad I saved. My Grandmothers watch from the 40's. She's in pictures with it for other decades.

  3. Cheri, was there anything inside the locket? It is truly a family treasure, especially with the photo. I have several pieces of family jewelry that are my treasures.

  4. I love seeing an heirloom in use in a picture. I have a photo of my grandaunt's wedding gifts, many of which I inherited.
